Pug Destroyer Shirts Benefit Pug Rescue of Florida by orlandooom407

How can you say no to that face? I certainly couldn’t because I submitted my application to volunteer with the Pug Rescue of Florida this morning after reading this Metal Injection article. My philanthropy senses began to tingle much like Spiderman’s hyper sensitivity to super suited psychopaths. The shirts themselves are available for $18 thanks to Pig Destroyer and ANIMAL New York. Portions of the proceeds go directly to the Florida Pug Rescue crew.

And, here’s the video that spawned the viral craze:

SICK FIX to Release ‘Vexed’ on A389 Recordings So We’re Sharing a Track by orlandooom407

Michelle Northam, vocalist for DC/Baltimore Hardcore brutes Sick Fix (A389 Recordings), incited quite the laugh with this roaring candid photo (props to Corky Berlin Photography for the shot). Today marks some exciting news for the band as they just announced an upcoming tour of Europe with the ever satirically pissed: Coke Bust. Armed with their hyper tense songs and a healthy appetite for aggression I’m envious for Floridian residency, and occupation, would prevent me from attending one of these shows.

Scion Rock Fest Set Times Chart (IN COLOR)! by orlandooom407

Scion Rock Fest kicks off tomorrow at 2PM EST in Tampa, Florida. We all couldn’t surpass our current state of elation if we tried. Here’s a handy colorful chart, created by Floridian West Coast native Chris Elmore, to help you in breaking up your evening. Orlandooom contributors and friends are sure to litter to floors of The Rtiz, Czar Bar and The Orpheum. I don’t know about everyone else, but there’s no way I’d miss The Atlas Moth, Sleep, Witch Mountain, Church of Misery or Saint Vitus. Might dip out during Down to catch a peek at Merzbow to complete the day’s sonic overload. Here’s Scion A/V Metal‘s graphical running order too:

Orlando Occupiers ABUSE Release Split With Melbourne Florida’s Arc & Panther by orlandooom407

Orlando’s heavy music scene houses a multitude of metal, punk, hardcore, or what have you. There’s something for everyone, and thus there are bands like ABUSE. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Central Florida’s quintessential quadratic craftsmen on several occasions with the likes of Scale the Summit, Khann, and even Miami grind freaks: Shitstorm. They brandish  a blurred blend of increasingly complex, and furious, punk inspired riffs adhered together with their unifying quadruple vocal harmonies. No (dedicated) singers, who needs those? Their lyrical content creates a verbose antagonism against corporate dominance, human subservience, and pollution (about the ocean). They’re joined by Melbourne Florida’s, central east coast for those unfamiliar, tectonic hardcore trio Arc & Panther. You can hear both sides of the split via the widgets below, and physical copies will soon be available through NorseKorea (norsekorea.com).

THEORIES Will Grind Your Philosophies Into Slop by orlandooom407

Theorie, a particularly well practices grind act from Seattle, was brought to my attention this morning via the Earsplit PR Twitter page. The rebellious imagery goes in hand with their grind focal ferocity, and they even toss in a big ‘ol mess of harmonious fusions between guitar harmonies and botchulesque guttural vocals. Their forthcoming tour features a stint with Chaos in Tejas, and dates with the likes of Municipal Waste, 3 Inches of Blood, Dragged Into Sunlight, Cough, Black Sheep Wall, Plague Widow, Whitehorse and Landmine Marathon just to name a few. Cripple Bastards – Senza Impronte EP by orlandooom407

Senza Impronte, or “without fingerprints” in English, was just released last week by Relapse Records on behalf of its Italian grind freak parentals: Cripple Bastards. I’ve come to expect an exceptional examples of fuck you in your stupid face grindcore from CB seeing as they’ve been together since the year I was born. Senza delivers with that expectation entirely garnering the raw brutality they’ve always showcased on recordings. This ten minute tirade sports commendable grinding like an aural caving into the skull. The assailing vocals of front man Giulio (the bastard) have maintained their exceptional range between boiling gastric growls  and shrill yet cauterized screeches declaring their infallible antagonism. In an age where bands like Brutal Truth are reuniting and new(er) comers like Antigama mutating grindcore elements with spacial disrupting experimentation CB doesn’t need to revolutionize anything, because I’m still head banging in appreciation like I have to any of their past releases (especially Your Lies In Check). Why change what you can develop with over two decades of refining experience?

Gourmet Powerviolence Show 4/29 at The Peacock Room by orlandooom407

HEY HEY NOW WHAT’S THAT SMELL? It certainly isn’t Clutch, because this aroma reeks of loathing and vegetables. 90 Proof Productions hosts another evening of filthy punk rock fun at The Peacock Room this Sunday night. The bill sports an inclusive assortment of Orlando support for its Miami family. Your 305 course includes a helping of pureed powerviolence with Lab Rats and an idol taunting Cumon Christ as a side. Hometown support includes POWERDUMP (members of Dissident Aggressor) and my favorite display of anarchic Floridian fervor Knifehits. Seriously, if you haven’t seen Knifehits get your Cory Trevor on, do some hot knives and get to fuckin’ work boys, but make sure to wear your helmet to defend against projectile punks, rogue beer glasses and collapsing ceiling tiles. I couldn’t find streaming widgets for the Miami boys, but here’s some tunes from the Orlandudes:
